Glory Sightings

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121

In this episode, Bryan D. Sims shares the passage that has given him perspective time and time again. A reminder that we are not alone. That God is with us. This practice of identifying and recognizing where we see God. We call them Glory Sightings. Glory Sightings give us a sense of awe and wonder and remind us daily to be filled with gratitude and joy.

Incorporate this practice into your daily life and the practice of connecting with your team, and see how it transforms not only you but also the members on your team.

Leadership Identity

God was pleased with Jesus before he did any public speaking or ministry.

It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by your ministry, calling, or leadership role. But remember, God loved Jesus simply because Jesus was his Son.

Jesus had not begun his ministry, yet His Father was “well pleased.” He was pleased because simply Jesus was His son. Jesus’ identity was secure in his Fathers’ love. His calling is clear and he moves forth in purpose and love. What does that look like for us?

Get on the balcony

Get out of the valley and see what is in the way of your destination.

While we are in the midst of challenges, we are leading in the middle of the playing field trying to lead people through challenges. According to Ronald Heifetz, “the single most important skill of adaptive leadership is getting on the balcony.” Get on the balcony and gain a new perspective.
